Bella is a formally trained artist who studied Fine Arts at the University of Colorado Boulder.

Becoming a professional artist had been a lifelong goal for her, dating back to childhood when she was constantly finding ways to create, from drawings and painting the walls of her bedroom closet to sculpting figures of her family from clay. Her university education gave her that lifelong passion a formal foundation, developing her skills in drawing, composition, color theory, form, and visual storytelling.

While pursuing her degree, Bella began a tattoo apprenticeship, bringing her fine arts education into the world of tattooing. As she developed her skills, she discovered that tattooing offered the combination of creativity, technical skill, and personal expression she had always wanted from a career as an artist. Her two areas of study began to naturally inform one another, with her fine arts training shaping her approach to tattooing and her tattoo practice expanding the way she thought about creating art.

Ultimately, Bella chose to leave the traditional fine arts career path and pursue tattooing full-time. Rather than stepping away from her fine arts background, she has brought that formal university-level education into a different medium, applying the artistic foundation she developed at CU Boulder to the creation of permanent, wearable art.
